ISRO spy case 1994 : chapter 1
Hi friends, today I am going to introduce you to a scientist.A scientist who deserves more recognition .Yes I am talking about Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Nambi Narayanan ji.I will give you his biography in short, major incidents happened with him and how it all affected ISRO's space missions.So, let's get started.S
Dr. Nambi Narayanan ji completed his MTech in college of engineering Thiruvananthapuram.I know you didn't read Thiruvananthapuram.Forget it.Then he got enrolled in Princeton university in 1969.There he expertised in liquid propulsion . Around this time ISRO was fully dependent on solid propellants.
Dr nambi was very ambitious about liquid propulsion rockets .And he believed that if ISRO wants to do man missions ,ISRO can't rely on solid propellants only.With his team he invented liquid propulsion rockets.They are used in PSLV launchers.In 1992 ,he was director of cryogenic department.ISRO cracked deal with Russia about indigenous cryogenic engine.Russia was going to transfer cryogenic technology to India to build India their own engines.All things were going smoothly until USA interfered.USA president wrote Russia to not transfer technology to India .He black mailed Russia on basis of some international rules and policies.That time Russia came under pressure and denied ISRO to transfer technology.All powerful countries that time knew that India is progressing faster than anyone in space race.
This time also passed.ISRO had already reached a consensus with Kerala Hitech Industries Limited which would have provided the cheapest tender for fabricating engines. But this did fail to materialize as the spy scandal surfaced in late 1994.And from here all the conspiracy began........

ReplyDeleteYes, indeed I am thankful to you for writing biography of such a legend who was unknown to me, but now he is known now a days we use to speak about chandrayan 2 , mission mangal.. ,but do we know about legendary work of some great people while building foundation of all those things??? I don't think so!!!
