ISRO spy case 1994: chapter 2




ON November 30, 1994, Narayanan was arrested.Narayanan was charged with leaking vital defence secrets to two alleged Maldivian intelligence officers, Mariam Rasheeda and Fauzia Hassan.He was in police custody for 48 days.And he faced brutal mental and physical torture.Dr. Narayanan was arrested by Kerala police and they handed him to intelligence bureau on account of "national security".In his biography Dr. Nambi said that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials who interrogated him wanted him to make false accusations against the top scientist of ISRO.
Later In May 1996, the CBI finally filed a report before the chief judicial magistrate saying that the spy case was false and that there was no evidence to back the charges. Also honourable supreme court of India gave verdict that Dr.nambi Narayanan was not guilty.SC gave judgement in 1998 and also ordered Kerala government to give Dr. Nambi compensation.It was reported on 8 November 2012 that Kerala government  didn't gave compensation.Finally on 14 September 2018 SC awards ₹50 lakh compensation to 77 year-old Mr. Narayanan for being subjected to mental cruelty in the ISRO spy case.
This is not the end my friends.Dr . Nambi Narayanan was in his prime days when he got stuck in conspiracy.He was inches away fabricating MADE IN INDIA cryogenic engine.But what happened with his dream is unfortunate.Yes we invented our own indigenous cryogenic technology based engine and launched,but when.after 20 years.Yes this much price we paid.And now my friends I can say it is clear why ISRO is lagging behind NASA.
For his valuable contribution to India's space exploration Dr.nambi Narayanan was honoured with Padma Bhushan award on 26 th January 2019.I salute you great man.

From the day we became independent nation many incidents took place which retarded progress of the nation.
